The Kent County Fund for the Arts Advisory Board oversee all grant making and award grants for charitable purposes to public institutions and non-profit organizations having a 501(c)(3) or fiduciary responsibility with a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.  Agencies must serve Kent County and its residents without discrimination based on race, religion, gender, age or national origin.

Grant Guidelines

Proposals are considered on the basis of how they help to foster growth of arts organizations in Kent County, as well as those organizations that support the arts.  The fund believes and supports the following ideals:

Arts as a means of enhancing the quality of life

Arts as a means of educating/broadening perspective

Arts as a means of developing the community

An emphasis will be placed on performances and exhibits.

The Kent County Arts Fund is particularly interested in proactive, preventative and future-thinking proposals.  Programs or projects that encourage collaboration and partnerships, are results-driven, that include an evaluation component, and that leverage other community funding will be most successful.

Annual Grant Cycles

The Kent County Arts Fund conducts one annual grant making cycle in June.  Occasionally we make proactive grants, at which time the Advisory Board chooses a specific initiative fund with the goal of making a significant impact upon a problem, opportunity or organization.

Our Review Process

When we receive your completed grant application, the staff evaluates it for conformity with guidelines.  Qualified proposals are then presented to the Advisory Board for consideration.  You will be notified within 90 days as to the acceptability of your proposal.  Initial acceptance of your application does not guarantee funding. Organizations with accepted proposals may be contacted to schedule a site visit with a member of the Advisory Board and/or staff.  You will be notified of the final status of your request in August 2010.
